Reconfigurable computing has been an emerging technology, but only recently has the possibility of developing such systems for space become exploited. The idea of reconfigurable computing in space is a hardware designer’s dream since the notion of fixing a hardware bug or updating a hardware-implemented algorithm has never been available. Space missions are critical by nature and, therefore, having the option of reconfiguring a system once launched provides numerous advantages and a great deal of flexibility.Reconfigurable computing platforms: Adapting for space applications
