Zeligsoft Unveils One Stop Development Shop for SCA
1 year 9 months ago

London, UK, June 9, 2008 — At the International Software Radio conference, ZeligsoftTM, a leading vendor of software development tools to the embedded computing industry, today introduced a suite of new features and services aimed at reducing the risk and accelerating the development of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) conforming to the SCA1 standard. The new functionality comes as a direct result of customer requests and further strengthens Zeligsofts globally dominant position in this technically demanding marketplace.

Zeligsoft announces its own SCA Core Framework (CF), pre-integrated with omniORB CORBA object request broker and Zelgsoft CETM, the leading tooling solution for SCA-based SDR development. Zeligsoft will continue its long-held practice of supporting customers' choices of SCA Core Framework and ORB, but will now also offer a pre-integrated, out-of-the-box solution to help SDR developers become productive even faster. With proven support for 18 different run-time SCA Core Frameworks, Zeligsoft's tooling solution will continue to support seamless transitions from development hosts to targets, enabling developers to validate new deployments, generate code, and monitor their running applications all from within the Zeligsoft toolset.

Zeligsofts CF offering enables teams to make dramatic progress with their project in advance of hardware platform availability, and it alleviates the time consuming and difficult task of analyzing, selecting and integrating SCA operating environment elements for their project. All elements are pre-integrated and run straight out of the box.

Zeligsoft is also announcing version 2.0 of Zeligsoft Code Generator. This new release incorporates SCA device code generation. SCA device code abstracts the physical radio hardware in accordance to the SCA specification. By automating the production of this code, engineers developing or modifying their radio platform can feel confident that regardless of the changes they make, their platform will continuously adhere to the SCA throughout the development cycle and to field deployment.

Zeligsoft is also offering a suite of new services targeting the global marketplace for standards-based SDR.

"DataSoft is heavily vested in JTRS projects including HMS, HDR and AMF and provides waveform porting as well as SCA implementation services,” said Larry Dunst, Chief Engineer, DataSoft Corp. “We have benefited greatly from Zeligsoft's tools, training and professional services and are looking forward to the enhanced features announced by Zeligsoft.”

“Zeligsoft's tools provide the productivity gain and agility that help us stay competitive,” added Sam Aslam-mir, Senior Software Architect, DataSoft Corp.

“As the marketplace matures, we will continue to offer innovative solutions built expressly to solve the software engineers productivity challenges,” said Neil Patterson, Director of Product Management, Zeligsoft.”

“No other vendor in the SCA space offers as complete and comprehensive a solution as we do,” said Ross MacLeod, CEO, Zeligsoft. “This new set of functionality relates directly to feedback received from our customers and the marketplace, and extends our lead as the tool vendor of choice. We are all looking forward to putting these new features to great use.”

Notes

1The Software Communications Architecture (SCA) standardizes the deployment, management, interconnection, and intercommunication of software application components in embedded, distributed-computing communication systems. While the SCA is published and maintained by the US DoD Joint Program Executive Office of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JPEO JTRS), it has received wide support and use from commercial radio developers and industry organizations.
