Aeroflex Incorporated today announced the acquisition of Gaisler Research AB, a privately held company, located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Gaisler is a provider of IP cores and supporting development tools for embedded processors based on the SPARC architecture. The key product is the LEON synthesizable processor Model together with a full development environment and a library of IP cores (GRLIB). Established in 2001, Gaisler is the pre-eminent processor design team for European markets with complete in-house design facilities for microprocessor, ASIC and field programmable gate array-based designs. With over 40 years of combined staff design experience, Gaisler has been involved in establishing European standards for processor and ASIC development.
