Brockton, Mass. – Since 1972, US-based Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions has been an innovative leader in system architecture for computing platforms. The company announces its complete line of 700 Series Air Transport Rack (ATR) rugged enclosures, engineered for maximum flexibility, durability and cooling in a range of harsh environment applications.

The 700 Series ATRs are designed to protect a variety of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) air-cooled cards, extended temperature cards and conduction cooled military grade cards in a variety of deployed environments. Satisfying a variety of thermal challenges, the enclosures can be engineered with convection (714 Series), re-circulating air (715 Series), conduction (716 Series) or air-over conduction (717 Series) cooling methods. For added flexibility, the 716 Series features configurable conducting walls to address the challenging diversity of environmental conditions found in the military sector.

The enclosures allow maximum flexibility in configuration of size, cooling and power requirements. The 714 Series features a modular aluminum frame equipped with solid rivet technology. The 715 and 717 Series leverage dip-brazed construction for a sealed system protecting the internal electronics from the external environment. All 700 Series enclosures range in size and weight to meet the varying weight and footprint requirements of airborne and vehtronics applications. When paired with Carlo Gavazzis System Performance Monitoring technology, the enclosures can activate internal heaters in cold start-ups or control the cooling fans to maintain optimal thermal conditions for the circuit card assemblies.

Providing an unprecedented level of ATR format flexibility, the enclosures can be modified to any custom form factor, and are available in a range of standard ARINC sizes, from ¼ ATR to 1 ½ ATR. Optional configurations for the line of ATR enclosures include: modular power supply supporting AC or DC filtered inputs to military specifications; adjustable card cages for front

panel card or backplane I/O; and an avionics tray for both fixed and isolated mounting for severe shock and vibration environments. The enclosures can support bus structures and platforms in the VME (VITA) and CPCI (PICMG) architectures.
