Washington DC, October 28, 2008 — Zeligsoft™, a leading vendor of software development tools to the embedded computing industry, today announced the introduction of Zeligsoft CX with an SCA domain, a new software development tool suite developed to help organizations build Software Defined Radios (SDRs) conforming to the SCA standard with higher quality and reduced development time.

Zeligsoft CX evolves from Zeligsoft’s proven development solution, CE, a tool suite ubiquitously used by Fortune 500 Defense Integrators for their Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) projects. Zeligsoft CX plus the SCA domain specialization introduces full UML capabilities on the extensible Eclipse and Rational Software Modeler platform, a combination of features completely new to the marketplace. With these capabilities, CX enables complete support for the software development life cycle, from architecture right through to deployment, bringing much more power and productivity to SDR/SCA development teams.

Zeligsoft CX is rooted in Zeligsoft’s Component-Oriented Engineering (COE) methodology, a methodology providing the foundation for greater software reuse, development efficiency and software quality. COE builds on the proven approaches of Component-Based Development (CBD) and Model-Driven Development (MDD) and extends them through the use of domain specializations. These Domains support customized modeling language concepts, validation and generation for greater development expressiveness within a specific class of applications such as SCA-based Software Defined Radio. Zeligsoft plans to introduce additional domain specializations to meet customer needs.

A fully tailored development environment (via domain specialization) coupled with high-performing production quality code creates software artifacts (models, code etc…) that can be readily reused. In the case of Zeligsoft’s SCA domain specialization, designs and implementations can be transitioned to non-SCA radios, or even to other embedded systems.
