Unicoi Systems’ Fusion Software Ported to Micrium µCOS/II: Partnership Provides Embedded Developers with a New Alternative

1 year 9 months ago → Industry News

ATLANTA, GEORGIA. – October 27, 2008 – Unicoi Systems, providers of Fusion Embedded Software, proudly announce full support for Micrium’s µC/OS-II real-time operating system (RTOS). As the result of Unicoi porting all Fusion Embedded Software to µC/OS-II, developers now have access to some of the industry’s most prolific and advanced embedded protocol suites, empowered by expansive chip support from one of the most pervasive and reliable real-time operating systems on the market.

“We are excited about providing our customers with support for Micrium µC/O-SII,” said Greg Coonley, Unicoi’s Chief Executive Officer. “Together, Micrium and Unicoi now boast one of the most desirable embedded software solutions for a variety of global markets, including: defense & aerospace, portable entertainment, Automotive systems, and consumer electronics.”

According to Jean Labrosse, Micrium CEO, "Customers of both companies benefit from a joint commitment to reduce time-to-market and provide rugged and proven solutions targeting a wide range of applications. It's beneficial to our µC/OS-II customers to have access to the Unicoi SNMP, SOAP, and WebPilot embedded browser."

The integration of Fusion Software and µC/OSII provides developers with a unique means of reducing development time with state-of-the-art networking protocols, including the Fusion TCP/IPv4/IPv6 dual stack, while complying with most mission critical OS requirements, for multiple chip sets. Micrium μC/OS-II is immediately certifiable for the highest criticality systems, including DO-178B Level A, Class III medical devices, and SIL3/SIL4 IEC-certified systems. Simultaneously, Unicoi delivers highly adopted protocols for networking and multimedia development, including: Fusion TCP/IP, RTP, SIP, RTSP, SNMPv3, embedded SOAP, HTTPS, IPsec, Common Internet File System (CIFS), and the Fusion WebPilot embedded browser. All Fusion protocols have been ported to the Micrium µC/OS-II and are ready for deployment, today.
