EMRISE CORPORATION (NYSE Arca: ERI), a multi-national manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic devices and communications equipment, today announced that it has received a $1 million order for RF (radio frequency) frequency generator subsystems from a major international defense prime contractor. This is a follow-on order for a new generation frequency generator subsystem to be used in an electronic systems application onboard navy ships in Europe. The design phase will begin immediately with initial shipments of product scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2010.
The order was received from this long standing customer by the company's U.K.-based subsidiary, Pascall Electronics Ltd., which will design and build the RF sub-systems at its facility on the Isle of Wright in England.
EMRISE President and Chief Executive Officer Carmine T. Oliva said this order, which is part of a multi-year, multi-million dollar program, is an excellent example of EMRISE's ability to capture follow-on defense business for new programs from its large base of existing US and European defense systems prime contractors. He also said the defense market continues to show robust business opportunities despite the global economic down turn. "We are especially pleased that we are able to continue to generate orders for multi-year Military programs such as this one," Oliva added. "These orders add to our already large and growing backlog of business and provide the basis for stable longer term production cycles, which ultimately contribute to company growth and profitability."
