AYER, Mass. [March, 2009], As part of our ongoing continuous quality improvement program, Hybricon Corporation is proud to have achieved the AS9100 Aerospace Quality Standard System Certification. At the same time, Hybricon fulfilled all requirements to achieve an upgrade to our long-held ISO9001 certification, and is now certified to the latest ISO9001:2008 revision.

AS9100 was designed to enhance ISO9001 by focusing on the additional, more rigorous expectations and requirements of the aerospace industry. The certification demonstrates the presence of an aerospace quality system that is both consistent and robust. These qualities are essential to ensure product, process and service safety, reliability and quality.

AS9100 certification is rapidly becoming a prerequisite for doing business, and many aerospace original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) will only work with suppliers who are registered to the applicable AS9100 standard. These quality requirements are extremely important to aerospace OEM’s, which maintain high levels of liability for their product standard. Failure to correctly handle parts and materials can directly affect product performance.
