Lynguent Rolls Out Two New Toolkits to Support Radiation Hardened Design
7 months 4 weeks ago

Portland, Ore., July 15, 2009 Lynguent(R), Inc., announced two new toolkits for its ModLyng(TM) Integrated Modeling Environment (IME): Radiation Hardened By Design (RHBD) Toolkit and BSIM4 Compact Model Toolkit. The RHBD Toolkit includes models and tools which provide a modeling and analysis capability for Single Event Upset (SEU) behaviors in deep sub-micro processes. The BSIM4 Compact Model Toolkit includes a high fidelity BSIM4 model which provides more flexibility than has ever been available for adding new effects to existing processes built upon the BSIM foundation. These toolkits, when used with the ModLyng IME, enable semiconductor and systems companies to easily enhance their IC design flows with radiation SEU capability and thus save weeks in qualifying their designs and cell libraries for radiation hardness.

“Incorporation of calibrated radiation models into IC design flows can facilitate the deployment of radiation-hardened designs,” said Dr. Michael Alles, Program Manager for Commercial Systems at the Vanderbilt University Institute for Space and Defense Electronics (ISDE). “The Lynguent tools offer improved capabilities for adding radiation effects into existing device models and design flows. The approach is user-friendly and efficient. The access to internal model equations and parameters provides increased fidelity required for today’s advanced technologies, and enables automation of model instantiation and parameterization based on particular design dependencies and user-defined simulation experiments. Calibration parameters for any specific technology can be encrypted and information about a technology is not included in the model or calibration parameters.”

ISDE has worked with Lynguent to implement the ISDE radiation effects models into commercial process design kits for multiple technologies.

Availability and Pricing

Available August 2009: The RHDB Toolkit is priced at $5,000.00 U.S. for a one year license and the BSIM4 Compact Model Toolkit at $10,000.00 U.S. for a one year license.

Product information is available at the Lynguent booth at both events below:

Europa Jupiter System Mission Instrument Workshop Laurel, Maryland., July 15-17, 2009 and The Nuclear and Space Radiation Effects Conference, Québec City, Canada, July 20-24 2009

About Lynguent, Inc.

Lynguent, Inc., a privately-held company headquartered in Portland, Ore., enables innovation in analog/mixed signal (AMS) design. ModLyng IME is the industry’s first environment for analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) design that enables users to create, manage and support HDL-based simulation models for analog, digital and mixed-signal domains.
