WHAT: General Dynamics will demonstrate powerful systems, along with critical enabling technologies and products that build, connect, secure and sustain tactical networks throughout the battlespace.
WHEN: Tuesday, August 18 through Thursday, August 20, 2009
WHERE: LandWarNet 2009
Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Booth #313
· Tuesday, August 16 at 3:45 p.m., Larry Rhue, senior vice president of Strategic Business Development and Integration for General Dynamics C4 Systems, will lead an industry panel addressing alternatives and solutions associated with the Army’s Global Network Enterprise Construct and the challenge of delivering network services to the warfighter at the battlefield’s edge.
Featured Demonstration:
General Dynamics C4 Systems is demonstrating, through the use of an operational vignette, how we connect a beyond line of sight, higher headquarters to the individual Soldier and their forward sensors, either stationary or on the move.
Empowered by the Warfighter Information Network- Tactical (WIN-T), the scenario pinpoints how WIN-T enables secure networked command, control and communications from the command post to the warfighter at the tactical edge.
Aided by the collaboration strength of the Command Post of the Future (CPOF) software and key communication and computing products, the scenario marks an industry highpoint in delivering secure wideband communications and situational awareness capabilities to dismounted soldiers across the distributed battlespace. Key capabilities featured in the scenario include:
· Land Warrior ensembles
· Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Handheld, Manpack, Small Form Fit (HMS)
· WIN-T vehicles and components
Exhibit Highlights:
Land Warrior: A fully equipped Land Warrior ensemble will be used to demonstrate how the warfighter digitally connects to the tactical network and includes how situational awareness data looks on the Land Warrior helmet-mounted or wrist display.
Unified Battle Command: Incorporated into the LandWarNet mission scenario, elements of the U.S. Army’s Command Post of the Future (CPOF) and Tactical Airspace Integration System demonstrate how the commander can direct the fight from anywhere in the battlespace, from the Corps level to the individual warfighter.
Secure Communications: Secure Communications: General Dynamics will feature the Sectéra® Edge™ Smartphone (SME PED) and Sectéra vIPer™ Universal Secure Phone. These two information assurance products enable Military and government personnel to access and secure voice and data communications from the core of the network to the tactical edge and back. In addition, the Trusted Virtual Environment (TVE) desktop, which allows a user to view multiple Security domains simultaneously on a single display, will also be demonstrated.
Connecting the Force: Joint service, tactical communication terminals demonstrate how critical satellite communications are used by the force on-the-move or the commander in the command post.
Training and Simulation - Communication Systems Simulation Trainer (CSST) and Computer-based Simulation: Building, connecting, securing and sustaining the network depends on the proficiency of the warfighter to understand the equipment and operate it flawlessly during a mission. General Dynamics demonstrates both Communication Systems Simulation Trainer and computer-based simulation training systems currently used by warfighters scheduled to deploy with a WIN-T Increment 1 system.
Tactical Computing: Connecting the warfighter to the tactical network requires a full range of rugged computing products and related equipment. Throughout the booth and within the mission scenario are actual Common hardware/Software-III (CHS-3) products, including the General Dynamics Itronix GD8000 rugged computer and Tadpole thin-client notebooks. General Dynamics enables the rapid, global distribution of this essential gear using the CHS-3 contract.
