Tampa, FL---February 8, 2006--- The U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center in Lakehurst, New Jersey has awarded I/O Test, Inc., a Tampa-based engineering software and hardware development firm, two three-year blanket purchase agreements of up to $5 million per year each for the development and design and engineering for the Warfighter Project involving all forms of U.S. Naval aircraft. I/O Test secured these contracts based on its track record of working for the Department of Defense and the team's experience working with Military aircraft and weapons systems.
I/O Test, a Hispanic-owned firm, has experience with the U.S. Navy's shipboard and shore based maintenance environments. The firm also has a full understanding of naval aircraft support equipment programs and component systems which includes avionics testers, engine testers, test program sets, and other support equipment. The contract tasks include a large number of requirements to support warfighter needs. I/O Test is also responsible for sustaining the government's Integrated Product Team (IPT) for design, development, integration, test, fielding for Support Equipment (SE) products. Engineering support may include providing technical assistance on Navy ships, sometimes while at sea.
“We are an engineering company and we understand and design products such as systems to test weapons,” IO/Test president Carlos A. Medina said. Medina recently developed a jet fighter weapons simulator used to train pilots for combat in hostile environments.
Medina and his team at I/O Test, Inc. have also developed biometric Security software used in Video cameras, fingerprint readers, and retinal scans. Moreover, because the risk of a friendly fire attack can demoralize troops, I/O Test, Inc. designed and developed biometric technology that allows allied forces to identify soldiers in the field and reduces the risk of friendly fire. I/O Test, Inc. technology also allows the U.S. armed forces to use video and send it through the Internet while maneuvering Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), commonly called drones.
Medina and I/O Test, Inc. have worked for some of the most distinguished names in technology including the U.S. Department of Defense, Lockheed Martin, NASA, United Space Alliance, Casi-Rusco, Allied Signal Aerospace, Watsco Components, Racal Datacom, Coulter, Dictaphone, KBS, Advance Promotion Technologies, Amitek, Restore, Sparton Electronics, Unison, Telectonics, Pacing Systems, Future Games, Angstrom, and Smiths Industries.
Carlos A. Medina, 43, is the president and founder of I/O Test, Inc., a full-service systems integration and consulting firm offering highly specialized and strategic computer network expertise for the U.S. Department of Defense and commercial concerns.
