Salem, NH, USA - November 8th, Seica Inc. announces the multi-unit sale of its premier Valid functional test platform to a North American Military OEM. The awarding of these contracts includes the delivery of 40+ test program sets. Seica's proprietary software migration tool, which has been developed over the past decade will allow for the migration of the customer's legacy programs and fixtures. Replacing the GR179X and GR2750 into just one Seica Valid test platform allows the customer to improve sustainability to their end customer. This will also allow for newer developments to take place on a state-of-the-art functional and in-circuit test platform supported worldwide.
“The Aerospace and Defense industries have prospered in the US, while other markets have stagnated or been redefined “ said Dave Sigillo, General Manager of Seica Inc. “Our involvement in this sector has increased substantially over the past year as OEMs and contractors have looked for equipment and legacy support tailored to the high-reliability, low to medium volume sector of the market”.
S40 Valid Test System -
The S40 Valid is a complete system for testing electronic printed circuit boards and is capable of performing analog, digital functional, and high frequency digital functional tests. It is ideal for military test applications including LRU testing. The system can be connected to the Unit Under Test (UUT) by means of a bed-of-nails or connector-based interface, or via “custom” adapters designed specifically to interface to the UUT. The interface is adapted into an ergonomic receiver for rapid fixture changes. The system has been designed to be modular and to integrate PXI, VXI, IEEE-488 based external instruments as required by military applications and very high performance test situations. The modularity of the S40 Valid allows for customer specific solutions that can address the unique requirements of the automotive, consumer and military markets.
Seica in the Military / Defense Sector
Seica's dedicated attention to the specific product and support requirements of the mil-aero market should be emphasized. Though mil-aero customers deploy the same test techniques used in commercial applications, their requirements at the prototype, production, and field/depot maintenance steps are more rigid and span over a larger spread of technology and longer product life cycles.
The company started out developing in-circuit test equipment for OEM's in civilian industries. However, it has since refined and developed innovative and visionary solutions to match the requirements of defense and aerospace manufacturing, where stringent standards for product quality, reliability and support are contractual.
Seica has significantly contributed to test development of LRU, SRU, CCAs programs and fixtures for the Tornado, AMX, EFA2000, F/A 18 and other major military programs acquiring a unique experience on a variety of languages (ATLAS, C++, tester specific,).
