Quantum3D Receives Follow-On Production Award from General Dynamics for U.S. Army Stryker Embedded Training Graphics Subsystems
4 years 10 months ago

SAN JOSE, CA - May 16, 2005- Quantum3D®, Inc., a leading provider of COTS, open-architecture, realtime visual computing solutions for the Visual and Sensor Simulation Training (VSST) and Embedded Visual Computing (EVC) markets announced today that General Dynamics C4 Systems and Quantum3D have entered into a follow-on purchase agreement for over 500 Quantum3D Ventana® PCI COTS Embedded Graphics Subsystems (EGS). General Dynamics employs the Ventana graphics subsystem in its Embedded Training Module (ETM) used in all variants of the U.S. Army Stryker Vehicles. The original production contract included 1,000 Ventana PCI subsystems.

"The Stryker ETM represents one of the first production embedded training systems in the U.S. Army," said Ross Q. Smith, Quantum3D co-founder and president. "Quantum3D is very proud to be an ongoing supplier to General Dynamics on the Stryker Program and to provide this critical component for this watershed U.S. Army training effort."

The Ventana PCI features dual NVIDIA Quadro® Graphics Processing Units (GPU) and supports RGB Analog, DVI, or RS-170/NTSC displays. It provides OpenGL® and DirectX®-based realtime 3D graphics capabilities that enable the ETM to support high-fidelity synthetic environment training with up to four outputs to in-vehicle displays. With the Stryker ETM, the U.S. Army Transformation Forces has been able to conduct high-fidelity precision gunnery and unit-level tactical training exercises while in a deployed environment.
