AdaCore Appoints Gregory Gicca as Director of Safety and Security Product Marketing
3 years 1 month ago

NEW YORK, January 22, 2007 – AdaCore, the leading Ada technology supplier, today announced the appointment of Gregory A. Gicca as the Director of Safety and Security Product Marketing. In this role Mr. Gicca will help plan, guide, and promote AdaCore's GNAT Pro product offerings for the safety-critical and high-security sectors.

Mr. Gicca brings to AdaCore more than 20 years of Ada experience that includes standardization work, product development, training, and marketing. He is an active member of ACM SIGAda, having served as co-chair for the SIGAda 2006 conference and as exhibit chair for several prior SIGAda conferences. He is currently the project editor for the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 22/WG9 ASIS 2005 standard update.

“Greg brings a wealth of experience in developing and marketing both Ada and safety-critical technologies, and we are pleased to add him to our team,” said Robert Dewar, President of AdaCore. "Greg's appointment emphasizes AdaCore's strong commitment to the safety and security markets, where Ada's unique technical capabilities and long, successful track record make it a natural choice."

Before joining AdaCore, Mr. Gicca worked for Green Hills Software's Palm Harbor, Florida division, where he was responsible for marketing the company's safety and security products and related certification efforts. Prior to this, Mr. Gicca worked for Aonix/Thomson Software Products/Alsys/TeleSoft, first as a field Application Engineer for Ada and safety-critical product lines in particular, and later as the Director of Product Marketing in charge of product management and marketing for the Ada, Safety Critical, TeleUSE, Embedded Java and StP product lines. He also served as a Senior Ada Software Engineer for Lockheed Sanders' Ada Technology Group, and as a Software Engineer for the GTE Government Systems' US Air Force WIS project.

Mr. Gicca holds a B.S.E.E. from Southeastern Massachusetts University.
