InHand Electronics is announcing a low power, mil-spec PDA called the Soldier Flex PDA at this week’s Embedded Systems Conference in Boston.
Working with the Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center (Natick, MA) and Army Research Lab, Sensors Electronic Device Directorate (Adelphi, MD), InHand has taken advantage of a PXA270 using their BatterySmart system software to achieve less than 1W operation. Using a flexible display from the U.S. Army Flexible Display Center (FDC) at Arizona State University helps the device achieve its ruggedness.
