NextComputing adds the Ultra High Performance of NVIDIA's Quadro FX 5600 Graphics Board to Two of its Portable, Flextop Computers

For immediate release: December 14, 2007, NextComputing, designers of high-performance, portable graphics workstations, announces the addition of NVIDIAs Quadro® FX 5600 graphics board by PNY Technologies, Inc. to their line up of ultra high-performance cards offered in conjunction with two of the companys flextop computer models, the NextDimension Evo and Evo HD.

A revolutionary unified architecture, NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 graphics boards deliver optimized application performance. Combining the industry's most advanced feature set, including largest frame buffers, with a C programming environment, Quadro solutions solve the most complex problems. The reference standard for Shader Model 4.0, the Quadro FX 5600 enables next generation applications with unprecedented image quality. The graphics board was designed to tackle the extreme visualization challenges of the oil and gas exploration, medical imaging, visual simulation/training, scientific research, and advanced visual effects industries. These industry targets align perfectly with NextComputings own set of solutions for these vertical markets.

The complex medical imaging community can run highly sophisticated, state-of-the-art medical software on NextComputings NextDimension Evo HD. Utilizing the CPU performance of high performance Intel and AMD processor cores and the GPU performance of NVIDIAs Quadro 5600 by PNY Technologies, Inc., allows health professionals to capture the highest quality, 3D body and brain images, and perform complicated 3D image processing and reconstruction, as well as PACS imaging applications.

The oil/gas industry can utilize the same technology as a portable solution for advanced data analysis and visualization, field quality control, and field processing.

The graphically intensive digital media industry can apply the solution to real-time 3D broadcast graphics, photo-realistic 3D animation, and visual effects rendering, as well as high-resolution Video effects processing for post-production.

Military/intelligence communities can utilize the NVIDIA and NextComputing solutions for intelligence or imagery analysis systems, GIS (Geographic Information System), and mobile simulation training platforms.

A NextDimension Evo or Evo HD supporting an NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 also includes the following features: Up to two dual-core AMD Opteron™ processors, 16GB RAM, over 2TB of storage, and internal DVD/RW. The integrated widescreen display (1920x1200) of the Evo HD model allows native HD video playback, and both models support external monitors. NextComputing recently announced enhanced PCI options on both models that include one dual-width PCIe slot and one single-width PCIe slot plus one factory access PCI-X 64-bit /100MHz slot This innovation allows ultra high-end PCI Express graphics boards, such as the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 by PNY Technologies, Inc. to be combined with the newest PCI Express video capture boards such as Blackmagic Designs DeckLink™ HD Extreme or AJA Videos XENA™ 2Ke.
